Get to know your Captain

Captain Landen was born and raised in Northern Michigan, which allows the pleasure of seeing many of its hidden gems, including some of the world’s best fishing (we're a little biased!). From a young age, Landen took an interest in fishing and can remember countless days after elementary school where he would beg his dad to take him fishing, no matter the weather. As he got older, fishing became a way of life. Captain Landen studied environmental engineering at Michigan Technological University in the great Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He has translated the many skills he learned in college to how it applies to fishing. For example, his studies on water and sediment samples help us to better understand how to “match the hatch”. Post college, Landen soon realized he was not designed to sit in a lab to study fish and microbes, but rather to be out in the world studying them every day. So here we are, Captain Landen is a 25-year-old living the dream of his first love…fishing!  Captain Landen personally, would love to have you on one of our charters this year to share our love of fishing with you.
